What does this site collect?

Summary

Cookies
None. The site sets no cookies.
Analytics and advertising
None. The site loads no analytics, advertising, or other third-party scripts.
Browser storage
One item, bsi-theme, holding your light or dark theme choice. It is stored only if you change the theme, stays in your browser, and is never sent to us.
Search
Your search words are sent to the site, in the page address, to produce results. We do not store them ourselves; like any request, they can appear in the host's request logs.
Newsletter
Only the email address you enter, and only when you submit the form. See below.
Contact
If you email us at editorial@bestsuperintelligent.com, we receive your message and address.

How is a newsletter email address handled?

Newsletter

  • The form sends your address to our server, which passes it over HTTPS to the email provider we connect. We do not write the address to our own logs.
  • To limit abuse, the newsletter endpoint briefly keeps the requesting IP address in server memory, for up to ten minutes.
  • No email provider is connected today. Until one is, no subscription is saved, and the form says so.
  • When a provider is connected, this notice will name it, and the change will appear on the updates page.

Hosting and logs

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, it processes standard request information, such as IP address and browser type, in server logs, under its own terms. We do not use that data to build profiles, and we do not have a tracking system of our own.

Links to other sites

Product, source, and policy pages link to external sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices. Links to vendors on this site are not affiliate links unless labelled as such; see the affiliate disclosure.

Frequently asked questions

Does this site use cookies or tracking?

No. We checked that the site sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts. The only thing stored in your browser is your theme preference, and only if you change the theme.

What happens to my email address if I subscribe?

It is sent over HTTPS to the email provider we connect, and we do not write it to our own logs. No provider is connected today, so no subscription is saved and the form says so.

Is this a legal privacy policy?

No. It is a plain description of how the site works today. We will update it, and record the change on the updates page, if we add analytics, a newsletter provider, or anything else that handles personal data.
