10 Hidden Risks of Relying on Synthetic Intelligence
Ten failure modes that show up when teams trust a model output: silent errors, data leakage, tool access, benchmark theater, and missing appeal paths.

The short answer
The practical risks are wrong answers that look finished, data leaving your tenant, agents with too much access, and scores that were never your task. None of these require a superintelligent system. They show up in ordinary tools.
How to read this list
This is an editorial map, not a tested ranking and not a score. BestSuperintelligent has not independently tested the products, discoveries, or headlines named here. Nothing below is a winner. Use it to decide what to verify, then check a primary source.
“Hidden” usually means the demo left it out. These are the gaps we ask about in procurement.
Which risks should a buyer name before rollout?
- Hallucinated citations or numbers inside a polished draft.
- Training or retention terms that change by plan.
- Prompt injection once a tool can read untrusted text. See what an AI coding agent can touch.
- Over-broad credentials for an agent.
- Benchmark scores that do not match your repository or documents.
- A single vendor score used as a purchase decision.
- No log of what the model saw and sent.
- No named person who can override an action.
- Accessibility and language gaps the demo did not include.
- A contract that bans the audit you need.
The procurement evidence checklist is the working version of this list.

Frequently asked questions
What is the biggest hidden risk?
A fluent error that nobody checks. Reliability fails quietly when the workflow has no second source.
Is this the same as existential risk?
No. This list is about systems you can buy now. Long-range research risks are a different topic and are not measured here.
Do these risks change a product score?
No. They are procurement questions. A score still needs evidence on every weighted dimension.
